Sonyia Turner joined the School of Government in 2019 as a Real Estate Development Specialist with the Development Finance Initiative (DFI). Prior to working with DFI, Sonyia served as a fellow with DFI, a fellow with The Center for Community Capital, and worked with the North Carolina Community Development Initiative (NCinitiative.org) with disaster relief efforts in Eastern North Carolina. Sonyia holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental design & architecture from North Carolina State University, and a Master’s in city and regional planning with a specialty in housing, community development, and real-estate development from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
